Pre-Preg Layup
- Pre-preg material consists of a reinforcement that has received the full complement of resin (matrix) prior to molding. The resin to fiber ratio is typically determined by the buyer.
- Pre-preg material comes in rolls and must be placed in climate controlled storage and defrosted prior to use.
Benefits:
- Ideal for high performance results.
- Optimized weight/performance ratio.
- Control of fiber content.
- Good Mechanical Performance: fatigue, tensile, stiffness, corrosion, good aging, repair.
CCTI has been successfully performing pre-preg layup for 10 years while Steve Hassett's first exposure to it was in the 1990's. CCTI's facility is equipped with temperature controlled storage for pre-preg as well.
